‘Out-of-the-box’ and strange interview questions

Sometimes interviewers like to throw odd questions at you to see how you handle the situation.  Some of these questions won’t have answers that can be checked, but they’re more about how you try and come up with your answer.  You can find a list of more typical interview questions here >

  • Would you rather know a lot about a little or a little about a lot?
  • Who would you invite to a dinner party?
  • Who is your favourite James Bond?
  • Give me 15 sellings points of the BIC biro pen.
  • How would you get an elephant out of a hole?
  • How would you cure world hunger?
  • How many light bulbs are there in London?
  • Are you a hunter or gatherer?
  • What would you do if you won £100,000 on the lottery tonight?
  • What is the funniest thing that happened to you recently?
  • How many pennies would fit into this room?
  • Describe the colour yellow to someone who is blind.
  • Would you rather fight a 1 horse-sized duck, or 100 duck-sized horses?
